Keto Week 8: Loving The Keto Whoosh!
Calling it the “Keto” whoosh is a bit misleading. All people who are losing weight will experience a time (maybe a long time!) of when they do not lose weight, even though they are sticking to a certain plan and should be losing weight. Well, that happened to me last week. I am just lucky that it only lasted a week.
Here’s a recap from Last Week, Week 7:

This week was a bit harder mentally than other weeks because I had such little loss from the week prior. It’s so much easier then the scale moves consistently down, but that is just something I need to get over. Last time when I lost a lot of weight, there would also be times when the scale would go up even though I was eating “on plan.” I know this will occur with this way of eating as well. It was just nice to have the whoosh happen!
What is the Keto Whoosh?
While I’m not really going to go in the science of the “whoosh,” Aarn Farmer from www.mysugarfreejourney.com explained it in his blog. Since it happens to anyone no matter the diet, I’m not sure that I have really bought into any explanation.
I feel much more comfortable with this explanation from the Mayo Clinic. Basically, they just say that you may need to reevaluate your caloric intake number since it will go down as you lose more, and increase your activity level. Some people recommend a “cheat” and do the opposite of what your diet currently consists of, but I don’t like this idea. It may work for you, but I consider myself a recovering food addict and those cheat days very easily turn into cheat weeks, which then lead me back to square one.
Recipe of the Week:
Yeah, I know that’s not actually a recipe, but it was so good that I had to include it! We went to dinner last night to celebrate Mother’s Day and we went to a Mexican Restaurant that knows my mom by order, if that tells you anything, haha (Love you, Mom- Happy Mother’s Day!) I had them give me the innerds of a fajita quesadilla which is just chicken fajitas with cheese on top. OHHHH MYYY GOSHHHH it was so good!
